Serious Problem Compiling: Bug or stupidity (mine)
I created a brand new directory and populated it with a fresh copy of
all our files from the CVS repository.
Some of the files don't compile - when I try, the "Compile Progress"
popup just hangs there with the "Loading classes..." message and CPU
usage is at 0.
Obviously, not being able to compile is a major problem. Any ideas?

Is the problem reliably reproducible?
Does explicitly invoking "Synchronize" before the compilation helps?
What compiler are you using?
Did you create the directory under one of the sourcepaths which is also
included in the project path?

No, I hadn't tried it before your suggestion, but it didn't help. I also
tried restarting IDEA and even rebooting the computer.
I tried both 1.3.1_03 and 1.4.1_01.
I'm not sure that I understand this question, but here's my setup:
APT-CVS - main CVS root directory
- JSky - source directory
- JUNIT - source directory
- Libraries - many jar files
- SEA - source directory
- Utilities - source directory
Currently, I'm compiling to sources, which I've found in the past to
work very well.
We also have Ant build files which compile to a "classes" subdirectory
under each of the source directories. The Ant compiles work just fine,
but they compile with debug turned off, which isn't very useful.

Hi Donald,

Could you please send me your ipr file for examination with the description
of what directory failed to compile?
