How do I add text to the current selection?

I'm trying to select the whole class and move it to another location.
But PS doesn't allow me to add text to my previous selection.
It always unselect the previous selection when I make a new one.
Have tried holding, shift, cmd, alt while making the selection with mouse.
Am using VIM, in selection mode.

Anyone help?
