It is too long ???
We know Jet brain folks released the Idea4.5 version one year ago. Idea5.0
not yet released and don't know how much time still it will take. Is it true
Irida features took one year to implement? I am not criticizing here, how
come it is taking so long.

Maybe they want to make it "right"? Maybe they turned the whole IDE
upside-down to support multiple languages?

Indeed. As a developer of a language plug-in for IDEA 5.0 ( http://groovy.codehaus.org/IntelliJIDEAPlugin ), I'd much rather wait another few months to get the part of the Open API that will allow me to implement 'Find Usages', write refactorings, intentions, and inspections for custom file types.
