Auto-Refresh Version Control Window

Did older versions of IntelliJ automatically load the Log in the Version Control Window?  When I switch to the Version Conrol Window, the Log is empty and I have to click Refresh to load the Log.  Is there a configuration option to auto-refresh Windows that have a Refresh icon when I switch to them?
