PyCharm not supported on this Mac message

Hello, I have MacPro with M1 Chip / Silicon. I have tried downloading JetBrain several times. Everytime, after I download and try to open from applications, I am getting this error:

You can’t open the application “PyCharm” because this application is not supported on this Mac.

Is this some dumb user error? Just to make sure I wasn't crazy, I also tried the Intel in case I was somehow reading my Mac info wrong. Same thing.

Hello,
Usually it's an architecture mismatch, so please double-check that your installer contains aarch64 in the name of the dmg file. Alternatively, you can use the Toolbox app to install JetBrains tools without any possible architecture issues: https://www.jetbrains.com/toolbox-app/
If this doesn't help to solve the problem, could you please clarify what version of macOS you are using?

I thought this was going to be a user error, as I noticed my OS was out of date, but doesn't seem to be the case. Jetpack wasn't really working, but I finally got the Community Edition to open.

I intended to PyCharm for its web development / Flask features, but this doesn't seem to be the one for that, as it doesnt' have “Flask” under new project creation. Am I wrong on this? Should I have downloaded a different verision on the jetpack? Thank you.

Frameworks are supported only in thePro version.

I got the exact same error message, although I used the toolbox to install. FYI, I also have DataSpell, which stopped working with the same message after I updated it. What is going on?

Hi,

The issue doesn't seem reproducible on a similar Mac. Please try updating MacOS to the latest version and if the issue persists - file a bug report in PyCharm project on YouTrack so we can take a thorough look.
