Customizing JetBrains Git UI to Match Sourcetree Layout

Hi JetBrains Community,

Long-time Sourcetree user here who's recently given JetBrains Git tools another try. I'm impressed that I could configure most of the UI to match my workflow!

However, one issue remains: the commit details layout. In JetBrains, clicking the upper right corner to toggle the diff view at the bottom feels unintuitive compared to Sourcetree's integrated approach (see attached screenshots).

Is there a setting to modify this behavior? Or any workarounds to make the commit diff view more directly accessible?

Any additional customization tips for ex-Sourcetree users would also be appreciated!

This is not possible, you may only split like this: (by clicking on the eye → Diff preview locaton →  Right
