Junie credits have no transparency
I just got a message that my “data volume” of my license is almost finished. I have no idea how to track my data volume. This is a TERRIBLE user experience and I'm feeling like JetBrains has kinda jumped the shark. I'm regretting having purchased the “Pro” level at this point.

This must be a joke. I just started using Junie two days ago for a few hours, yesterday for another few hours, and today, with 5 conversations in total over the past days.
In addition, I have about 12 AI chats over the past month (Q&A with in average 3-4 follow-up questions). Is this considered excessive or “very active usage"?
I'm at 4% of my quota (AI Pro)… so hardly can do anything more.
And yes, my project is rather big, but that's exactly where AI can be of help…
Exactly. Considering the whole trend of “vibe coding”, Junie provides a lot less than the competitors. I can use Cursor for weeks with no problem but Junie craps out quickly. COME ON JETBRAINS!! You used to be the gold standard on everything dev. Now you're slipping into “old news”
Exactly, for me, for two days, after finishing the basic one, I paid for it pro and I have been up to date since starting to use it with two not long conversations
I regret upgrading to this. Why upgrade if its just going to tell me my quota is almost up? Where do I track it? How do I keep up with it? I don't think this is meant for power users at all but I suppose [they] had to jump on the buzzword-bandwagon and release something we can play with for a few DAYS (even though you PAY per month or annually you don't get to use it THAT long). So beware..
But I do hope this gets better and becomes more transparent.
The quota tracking tool in the editor is almost worthless. I have no idea which queries are costing most.

Got the same problem. Bought “AI Pro”, used for a few days and now it says “The data volume of your license has finished”. I do not see any mention of used data, nor tools to track the data.
After all, junie did not manage to make a useful code yet, and now it stopped working.
Well, I was about to recommend our company buy licenses for all developers, but now I see it will be a waste of money.
Same for ma after 3 days used on ultimate.It is not very well explain what is corresponding L ≈ 40X ??? is it 40 prompt by month ? If yes i prefer switch on cursor for same price we have unlimited slow request and 500 fast request by month…
I have to agree here with the assessment of Junie vs Cursor as it stands now. Having paid for both, after few days of testing I ran out of credits for Junie (the data volume of your license has finished) and seems I have to wait almost a full month to get some usage back.
With Cursor so far I've had a blast and managed to build a hobby project from zero to properly working condition apart from few special cases in a week, and have yet to see that I'd be even close to running out of volume. Perhaps it's a bug on their side?
Overall I think I'd still prefer Junie over Cursor, as Cursor seems to make more occasional unasked modifications or occasional silly mistakes, but having Junie out of commission most of the month at the moment doesn't really encourage to use it.
I have exactly the same issue. I was coding on Pro for just one day and here we go - no credits more. That's too little, to be frank
Same issues. Junie is out of credits after a few hours over 2-3 days. Pro isn't enough for a pro coder. It's not even enough for an enthusiastic amature. I didn't even know I had a data limit until the warning popped up.
5 days for me lol, and this was just me trying to improve test coverage for my hobby project after work.
I have Ultimate license; eight days, and quota ends; and the plugins said that we have to contact with support to increase my quota (june 12th)…
The interface doesn't help to show how many request do you have, or similar questions.
Junie is a great tool… But needs a more transparency policy from Jetbrains, I think.

I got my quota back today. I'm not using PyCharm but PHPStorm btw., but I assume Junie quota works about same for both, and I have (had) AI pro.
I asked Junie for two modifications on my code. On the first occasion it failed (probably due to differences with libraries in use vs. what it knows), so I asked for some additional modifications. From these two questions I can see I was down from 100% quota to 97%.
From here I can calculate that with AI pro I can probably use Junie 2-3 times / day in order for the quota to last for the whole month, and hopefully without having the need for additional queries to correct errors. While I can appreciate AI will cost money, this sort of feels bit too little.
In comparison, I ran out of my 500 requests with Cursor in 16 days (and then it still doesn't stop & you can continue to make edits with additional cost with cost cap), while it made about 72000+ lines of agent edits. The pricing I think is about comparable for the licenses.
For Junie to be as useful, the quota I think would need to be about 10x compared to what it's now. It would still have less requests than competitor, but given that I think Junie produces better results on average (at least currently), that could be forgiven.
Hi, same here. I've used Junie, and not even that intensively, for 7 working days, and my quota has almost run out. I would expect that the “All Products Pack” with the AI Pro version would cover normal development, assisted with AI.

Same issue here with the available data volume. It needs to increased by at least 5x for the AI Pro plan, so it doesn't run out after a few days of usage.
I tested out the free version of Junie in PhpStorm for the first time today and after a few hours of extensive usage I finished my data volume. This is not acceptable and I can not use it with those limitations.
And finally, the last "joke" (and I use that term VERY loosely)...

UPDATE: 16+ days without support response for Ultimate quota increase
Following up on my previous comment about Ultimate quota exhausting in 8 days - I contacted support on June 10th as instructed by JetBrains documentation, and it's now been 16+ days with ZERO response.
Their own documentation (SUPPORT-A-1868) promises Ultimate users:
but the reality is weeks of complete silence.
This thread shows the quota system is fundamentally broken across ALL tiers, but JetBrains won't even honor their written commitments to Ultimate users who follow their documented procedures.
For a company that used to set the gold standard for developer tools, this level of service is concerning. The AI Assistant ecosystem is unusable due to quota issues, Junie is incompatible with current IDE versions, and support response times don't meet documented commitments.
Perhaps JetBrains should consider maturing these AI products further before release, implementing proper beta phases, and offering appropriate remediation when issues arise - this is what we expect from the market leader in commercial IDEs.

Literally had 5 chats with Junie and I'm all out of credits already. It didn't even finish the 5th one.
I totally agree with others here, for a company that used to be a gold-standard JB is becoming a predatory joke that doesn't value its customers. For the past year I felt nothing but disappointment. And it's baffling to me it goes on despite all the protests and pleads from the users
