Searching in the Project/file listing panel

In the Project view (file/folder listing in the top left by default), I can start typing to search for a specific file by name. Is there a way to skip to the next search result? It's really annoying when I'm trying to look at the package “foobar” and it pulls up e.g. “aaafoobar” first and I don't have a way to skip over it.

Hi there

The quick search is a bit limited in results and actions therefore I would advise to use the global search instead

You can open the global search by pressing double shift (press shift twice quickly) and go to Files, otherwise you can use the shortcut (for mac shift+CMD+O)

This will match the file you are looking for without showing you first other files that match the substring.

Kind regards,

Thanks, I'm normally looking for a specific package in the venv though, not a specific file. Or it might be in a commonly named file like __init__.py

Hi Eric

Understand, you have the possibility to jump to next result by typing Ctrl+N (or up/down arrows) to scroll through the result list.

I hope this helps

Kind regards,
