Sorry, ... email address is blocked. Please use another email address.
I am a verified member of the GitHub Student Developer Pack, but I cannot activate my JetBrains Student License because my university email domain (@ogr.altinbas.edu.tr) is blocked.
Even when I try the “Authorize with GitHub” option, the process still does not work and I get blocked. This is very frustrating because GitHub has already verified my student status.
I have also attached photos/documents as proof of my active student status. I kindly ask you to review these materials, as they clearly confirm my eligibility.
I really want to use JetBrains products, and I truly admire the tools you provide for students and developers. It is very important to me to get access to the Student License, since I enjoy working with JetBrains and want to continue learning with your IDEs.
Since I am not an ISIC/ITIC cardholder, and I already passed GitHub’s verification process, I kindly ask you to help me resolve this issue without requiring the SWOT process.

I’m having trouble verifying my student account with GitHub. I’ve provided all necessary photos, but the verification still doesn’t go through.
I really love JetBrains products and I’m eager to use them for my studies. Could you please review my submission?
Please wait one hour to config change has effect, and request the free license using your GitHub account.
Dear Philip,
I wanted to thank you for helping me resolve the IntelliJ issue. I really appreciate your support, especially with the GitHub verification process—it made things much easier for me.
I also noticed that my student verification shows as valid until September 1, 2026, while the GitHub Student Pack is set to expire on August 29, 2027. Could you please clarify if this is correct, or if it is just a one-year validity?
Best regards,
Samed Tevin
As far as I see, you already received and use your free license. When logging in to your JetBrains account (https://account.jetbrains.com) please use your email address @ogr.altinbas.edu.tr and your JetBrains account password. Thank you!

Hi Philip,
I recently encountered the same issue with my ***@aof.anadolu.edu.tr university email domain. As a result, I'm unable to activate my JetBrains Student Pack, even though I’m a verified member of the GitHub Student Developer Pack.
Could you please review my case as well?
Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your affiliation with Faculty of Open Education of Anadolu University.
I’m afraid that we won’t be able to approve your student license application.
This is due to the fact that, specifically, the Faculty of Open Education of Anadolu University is not accepted by JetBrains to take part in our Student Support program. According to our license terms, we only support individuals from recognized educational institutions.
The Faculty of Open Education is known for allowing student enrollment to professionals who already work full-time and who can use JetBrains tools at work. This goes against our license terms because student licenses are only granted for education, and it is strictly forbidden to use them for any commercial purposes.
I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, we have no choice but to decline your application. This decision is not a reflection of you personally, but rather due to the policies of the Faculty of Open Education.
If this option doesn't work for you, we’d like to share some other options that you can find useful:
• Free WebStorm (https://www.jetbrains.com/webstorm/buy/), CLion (https://www.jetbrains.com/clion/buy/), Rider (https://www.jetbrains.com/rider/buy/),
and RustRover (https://www.jetbrains.com/rust/buy/) for
individual, non-commercial use.
• Free PyCharm (http://jetbrains.com/pycharm/download/),
including Jupyter Notebook support.
• Free IntelliJ
IDEA (http://jetbrains.com/idea/download/#community-edition) option.
• 30-day trial versions or Early
Access Program (EAP) (https://www.jetbrains.com/resources/eap/) versions of our IDEs.
It’s also worth checking our special offers page (https://www.jetbrains.com/store/#discounts), which lists all the current free and discounted options available.
Another possibility to consider is a personal subscription (https://www.jetbrains.com/store/?fromMenu#personal?billing=yearly). It’s more affordable than a business license and
can be used for both personal and commercial work.
I hope this gives you some good alternatives to explore. Let me know if any other questions come up.

Hello Ms. Natali,
my fellow students at this university and I are looking to improve our skills and pursue our education at this institution, which is relatively more affordable for us given the high cost of education and exchange rates in our country. Yes, free versions are available, but we need these licenses to establish ourselves in the international arena and to further our own development. I kindly request that you do not take away these opportunities we've been given and, if necessary, provide us with an opportunity to prove to you through official channels that we are not in this sector. I, too, am an active student at this university and a young person looking to build a future for myself. We kindly request your assistance.
Respectfully,
Thank you for your reply. Please note taht I have already explaind the JetBrains reasons why the Faculty of Open Education of Anadolu University is not accepted by JetBrains to take part in our Student Support program and offered some good alternatives. Please contact the administration of the Faculty of Open Education regarding their policies. Only after implementation of the considerable changes in their policies we can reconsider our decision.
Thank you for understanding!
Dear Natalia,
I am writing to report a similar issue regarding the blocked university email domain. I am also a verified member of the GitHub Student Developer Pack, but when I try to activate my JetBrains Student License, I receive the following error:
“Sorry, hangliu@chd.edu.cn email address is blocked. Please use another email address.”
Even when using the “Authorize with GitHub” option, the process fails at the same point. GitHub has already confirmed my student status through the Student Developer Pack, so I believe my eligibility should be valid.
I understand that university domains may occasionally be restricted due to verification policies, but I kindly request your assistance in reviewing my case. Since I have already passed GitHub’s verification, I hope it might be possible to resolve this without requiring additional steps like SWOT or ISIC/ITIC verification.
Meanwhile, I have also attached the photos to prove my active student status. I truly appreciate JetBrains’ support for students and developers, and I am eager to continue learning with your tools.
Thank you for your time and help. Looking forward to your guidance.
Thank you for reaching out.
