Hello,
Maybe I've missed it, but is there an option so that when I close a tab which I was using to run SQL commands, it literally closes it (and “deletes” it). Currently I have to keep going to “service” see a bunch of open consoles/tabs which I then have to manually delete, even after I've clicked the X to close the tab.
It would also be really useful if the consoles which are stored in this service area, were actually within the DB explorer. It is taking up so much real-estate of my laptop screen to have both open. Is this an option please?

ps. My background is from Microsoft SSMS, so I'm use to that way of working. I'm trying to make things feel a bit more familiar for my while I learn to adjust my ways.

Hi Rob,
If you want to close a session, you need to click on Delete
Or close all sessions if you want to close all the sessions associated with a particular data source. We have a UI ticket to make the option more intuitive and less repetitive
We have a feature request to close the session when a SQL script file is closed. At the moment, this has to be done manually in Services.
There are no plans for adding console instances to the Database Explorer, as it doesn't represent a database object
Overall, we have recently made a big step in moving from query consoles to the SQL script files, which were causing confusion in the workflow. This is our current roadmap:

Given the first two links are 4+ years old and 1+ years old, and there is no set plans/dates on them, as well as 19,000 issues for Datagrip, it doesn't look positive that we'll see these changes implemented in my life time.
