Is there a way to split the terminal in 2025.3?

This was a very useful feature, where you did something in the right-hand side of a terminal tab and, say, observe the live logs displayed in the left-hand site of it.

Hello there,

To better assist you, please provide a screencast that illustrates the behaviour and share the IDE logs archive generated via Help | Collect Logs and Diagnostic Data action after issue reproduction.

You can upload the requested logs to our internal storage via https://uploads.jetbrains.com/. Ensure to provide the upload's ID.

Hi Krzysztof Wolowski , you can right-click the tab of the Terminal, and click “split right”.

Jerome Guan I also don't see this option after upgrading to WebStorm 2025.3. Can anyone from WebStorm team help?

I'm not sure if the same option is available in WebStorm, but switching the terminal engine from “Reworked 2025” to “Classic” restores the old version of the terminal (resolving all terminal issues).

Hi, I assume I've figured out an inconsistency in behavior between the versions you mentioned. With the Classic Terminal, you can right-click inside the window or on a tab to get a drop-down list with the Split option:

However, with the Reworked Terminal, this is only available when you click on a tab. Is it the same for you?

Hello,

Clarification to the previous answer. The changes to the context menu were intentional as part of the IJPL-201586. So please feel free to leave feedback or suggestions on this change in the related task.
