Debug command line disappeared for no visible reason...

I am trying to open the debug command line in Pycharm. This morning it simply disappeared for no visible reason. I am using Pycharm 2017.2. I tried both 2.7 and 3.5 interpreters but this seems to have no effect on whether it appears after I press Tools>Open Debug Command Line.
Why has my Debug Command Line disappeared? How can I get it back?

Could someone please pick this up? Its been two months and I'm still debugging like a caveman...
Finally found it from this link https://stackoverflow.com/questions/46829125/intellij-idea-2017-missing-debug-window. I had to press the 'restore layout' button. This is not intuitive behavior. If the console disappears one should be able to bring it back using tools>Open debug console.
Hi awa5114! It looks like you accidentally collapsed Console View. You can click on the icon in the upper right corner of the Debug tool window (Restore Console View).
