How to run a simple java code?

Hi! I'm just a beginner in java and I have a very simple code with few classes to run. Yet the program demands to set configurations to run it and I can't figure out what type of templates I need or how to set the path to the document. Other than setting configuration, running the code doesn't seem to be an option :(
