Debug Drupal 5.3 php 5.2.9 on Xamp 1.7.1

HI,

My website which is 10 years old is working well on localhost and also on GoDaddy hosting.

But when I try to install xdebug dll the apache server goes down after restart - I was using sublime text.

now I downloaded phpstorm but able to debug ?

do I need xdebug or zend and given my drupal/php is so ancient - is there some other configuration I need to do or install some old files from where ?

any guidance will be greatly appreciated.
