IntelliJ keeps giving errors (Mac) (CE)

IntelliJ keeps saying that it could not save files even though no changes were made and it shouldn't try save the files. It also happens when I do in fact change the files, and it also keeps telling me to restart because it can not save settings. I restarted and it still happens. I don't know why this is happening, and I don't know how to stop it. I would really like some help in this situation. Thanks.
