Pycharm main window not visible

Pycharm on Windows 10 isn't showing the application window.  It is very similar to when a window gets stuck on an orphaned display, but none of the tricks to remedy that are working (minimize, maximize, cascade, switch desktop etc).  The splash screen shows up and tool tips window shows up, but not the main window, only tray icon.  When hovering over the tray icon, it shows an image of a blank white screen.  I've reinstalled.  I've reinstalled deleting cache etc.
