Whenever I want to open a project or configure a python interpreter, the file explorer is very slow, it opens and shows the loading symbol for 2 minutes and then loads. I tried it on another system and over there it is fast.

Please try disconnecting the network drives. It's a known issue that we plan to address in the scope of this ticket: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-101218.
