New Plugin Update popup window needs to go away.
已回答
Sometime recently (an IDE update or 2.. I'm currently on 2020.2.3 / #IU-202.7660.26) available plugin updates started showing up as a big annoying window pop up that steals OS focus and is generally unwanted. How do I turn it off? I appreciate the updates showing up in my Event Log as before but I do NOT want my user-flow interrupted for them. FYI I went into the "Appearance & Behavior" -> "Plugin updates" and "Popup type" is already set to "No popup" can't find any other setting that would apply.. ??
Thanks.

What specific window are you referring to? Could you please share a screenshot?
I will when I get another one.. unfortunately given the nature it's not something I can trigger directly but.. I've been getting plugin updates like this multiple times a week so should have one soon! Until then it's a "big" window for a popup (Like it resembles the Plugin manager from settings) with a list of plugins that have updates on the left and a details pane for the selected plugin on the right. Buttons for "Update Now" on the plugins themselves which change to "Restart IDE" where necessary once applied and a few buttons like that at the bottom right as well.
Of course when I need to grab a screen I don't get one for a while... this is the screen in question. When I created this ticket I was getting these multiple times a day and then had this gap but got another one today. FYI The "the new one is a paid for plugin" is just for this specific plugin not all of the ones I got this pop up for.
Thanks for the details.
It does look like a bug. If notifications are disabled, the dialog should not be displayed during automatic update check.
I created a report for this on our issue tracker: IDEA-258044. Feel free to follow it for updates and leave additional comments.
See this article if you are not familiar with YouTrack.
"No popup" selected for plugin updates in File | Settings | Appearance & Behavior | Notifications just disables displaying balloons in the bottom right corner of the IDE window.
To get rid of the "Plugin updates" window you can disable "Automatically check for plugin updates" in File | Settings | Appearance & Behavior | System Settings | Updates. In this case you won't receive any notifications anymore, but will need to check for updates manually in Help | Check for plugin updates.
Unfortunately at the moment there is no setting to turn off these notifications without disabling the automatic updates check, hopefully it will be added in the near future.
