PphStorm lost ALL settings on importing IDE settings
I have to work with PhpStorm since October 20 (5+ months) and customized it extensively.
Today, I thought it would be a good idea to test the export/import IDE settings and see what it brings to my workflow, which is heavily branch-based and involves many new "projects". Export went ok, import set me back to what seems to be a virgin install of the IDE. , I even had to re-enter license data. Now, instead of working, I need to customize, install plugins etc.

How exactly did you migrate the settings? Via the JetBrains account, VCS repository, Import/Export to zip file, any other option?
... via ZIP file:
1) File > Manage IDE Settings > Export Settings ... that went OK
2) I opened another project and tried 3) while leaving the initial PhpStorm instance open
3) File > Manage IDE Settings > Import Settings ... asked me to restart
4) Both instances closed. I was faced with a virgin instance in which EVERYTHING was reset, even the license data ...
In fact, I have tried to reproduce it by following the described steps on my installation but without any success, nothing is lost in my case.
Do you still have this .zip file? Actually, it is no more than an archive of XML configuration files, so please check if you have anything from your past installation in this archive.

FYI: I'm still on Version 2020.2 ...
Because of this experience I'm neither keen on updating nor trying again. In fact, I tried several times yesterday, with the same result ...
