Nano is stuck in Insert mode
Hello,
I'm currently using the latest version of WebStorm 2026.2.0.1 on a Mac. When I open a file in the WebStorm terminal using nano (e.g., nano ~/.gitconfig), the file opens in INSERT mode, and I can't exit it.
I tried remapping the Insert key to another shortcut to disable it, but nothing worked.
I also tried the usual troubleshooting steps (switching the terminal to Classic/Reworked 2025, restarting the IDE, etc.).
I couldn’t find anything in the Terminal settings that affects this, but if I open a file using nano in my Mac terminal, I don’t have this problem.
If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them. I get the feeling this is a recent change because I would have noticed it before, since I use nano as my rebase/squash interface.

Hi,
This is a recognized issue tracked here: IJPL-106260. Please follow it for the updates.
As a workaround, please try running
export TERM=vt100(or configure it in your shell config) or install Nano with Homebrew (GNU nano 6.3) to see if it helps.Hi,
That's work, thank you for the fix, and sorry for the duplicate post.
