Project view - convert to show folder structure

We work on a large scale project with a  multi-module maven build. It has > 250 single maven modules to be imported.

I managed to import it in a way that the folder structure of the file system was visible on the Project View. If I remember well - create project from existing sources. One day, I screwed it up and since I fixed it, the project view is flat.

Is there an easy way to change it back to a 'nested' view? Easy means: I don't want to edit all > 250 modules manually on the project structure.

I tried to import it again from 'existing files' with 2021.3 but I ended up with a the same flat view plus hundreds of modules that I don't want (for src folders, test, whatever) and MINUS my configured datasources and run executions (I was clever enough to zip my .idea folder so I could revert that)
