My non-writable files are no longer showing the small 'lock' icon on them

已回答

I'm using normal JB Rider 2022.1.2. I've tried looking everywhere and searching the right keywords for the setting that would bring this back, but haven't had much luck. I use p4 for source control, and it's definitely it's connected (I'm able ton check out files and they show up on p4). I know the files are not writable to begin with, because editing the file gives me the 'Clear Read-Only Status' pop-up. I'm not sure the moment the lock icons went away for me, but I recall them being there when I was using Rider for Unreal Engine.

Do the files reside on the local file system?

Are you sure there is no lock icon in the status bar at the bottom of the IDE window?

Make sure this option is enabled.

Serge Baranov Yeah the files are on my local machine. And, that little lock icon appears on my status bar working as intended. It will show the lock as unlocked if Its no longer writable. But, the little icon i'm referring to in this post is on the file tabs themselves. So, if I had 5 files open, I can see without jumping into a file which one is marked as writable or not.

See https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-286361/Lock-icon-disappeared-from-read-only-files.

You can add ide.locked.icon.enabled=true in Help | Edit Custom Properties and restart the IDE to revert the old behavior.
