After new version, Cannot group different projects as before
I really loved on the previous version, that I could group different windows on a single desktop on Mac
That way I could switch projects in the same desktop, and then, on a different desktop, I could have another window with more projects.
Now it will create a new desktop for each project. I saw that from the menu, I could group all windows together of all projects, but I cannot have 2 in one desktop and 3 in the other.
Is there a way to keep doing this?

Are you working with the new UI? The macOS tabs are disabled in the new UI because there is still a problem with the tabs support in the new UI due to https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-290850/macOS-project-tabs-adjust-tabs-position-and-enable-in-new-UI. After fixing it, we will re-enable this option.
Not sure what's the new UI, I see pretty much the same as always. How do I activate new UI?
Can I somehow, revert to previous version, until this is fixed?
>How do I activate new UI?
it can be activated in Preferences | Appearance & Behavior | New UI, Enable new UI
If you don't have it enabled, everything should work as before
>Can I somehow, revert to previous version, until this is fixed?
Previous versions can be downloaded from https://www.jetbrains.com/webstorm/download/other.html
Thanks for the help.
No, on latest version, with the new UI deactivated, you only can have one desktop with multiple editors in tabs, not on allowed more than one.
Opening a new project on new window, is creating a new desktop, not a tab
Please make sure that you have Prefer tabs when opening documents set to Always in Mac OS System preferences > General - does it help? A possibility to open windows as tabs rely on Mac Prefer tabs when opening documents
No, on 2022.2 it works, and even on 2022.3 also works, but only in one window.
On 2022.2, I can have multiple windows with tabs
what OS version is it?
Ventura 13.0.1
I see, thanks. We are working on this, see https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-284415/BigSur-Open-project-in-a-tab-stopped-working#focus=Comments-27-6730825.0-0
