Simple reassignment to val check is already implemented, so if you rewrite the code like "a = a+(1)" it will be highlighted.Calls like "target op= value" highlighting is yet to be done.

Generally speaking, it's better to avoid using strange characters in library path.Try to run Scala console without the IDE (from the command line) and check whether the problem persists.
