Distinguish text with different colors

Hi everyone,
I'm new to IntelliJ and I'm trying to get the text in external file(.rb) with distinguished colors.
Is there a way to set the property, so that specific extension file text (capitals, quote string, normal text) can display in different colors.
i could not use the Ruby plugin as am using the IntelliJ community edition 15.0.3
