I how I fix this terrible selector / cursor

How do I make it so Intellij will stop doing this again.

I want the cursor to go to the end of a line when I click on a line not here in the middle of the screen.

If I want to copy and paste something this is now the terrible result

Also if it helps in one project it is normal and how I would expect and want it to be, but in my main project it is like awful.

Also check you don't have column selection mode enabled:
