Scene Builder Inspector Panel

I'm trying to use Scene Builder within the Community edition of Idea to develop JavaFx applications. I am experiencing a problem running scene builder within Idea 2017.1.3 whereby the Inspector panel is not responding to events generated in either the Heirarchy panel or the control panel when selecting a control.

On first load, Scene Builder responds as it should, but attempting to open the Location tab in the Inspector Panel on a selected control causes the Inspector panel to freeze.

I've tried using both the Gluon and Oracle Scene Builder versions and they both exhibit the same problem. Both versions work perfectly in stand-alone mode, I'm running on a laptop using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.

Has anyone else experienced this behaviour.
