IntelliJ Idea Community edition needs improvement

This IDE seems to have some issues. You block out code to delete it with backspace and it doesn't work. You type in a word into a string and then it a letter gets stuck, dragging and repeating it across the screen. You go to run code and it can't find the proper folder path, so you have to go back and configure it. Anyway these problems can be patched up?

Well, there are no exact steps to reproduce that, except to try it out. It has nothing to do with the code. It has to do with how the IDE is interpreting the keystrokes from the keyboard in the first two items I described. In the last item it has to do with how the IDE is interpreting and finding folder paths. There are no error logs that I know of that can track that.
Your description is not clear, please submit issues to YouTrack, one per problem, maybe a video would help to understand what happens, the logs may contain important details, so please attach them as well.
