Postgres Timestamp

If I set the option of -Duser.timezone=UTC it works great for timestamp with timezone columns.  The problem is that it also moves columns that are timestamp without timezone and just plain date columns.  Is there anyway to just have timestamp with timezone columns display in UTC and to leave other columns alone.  This affecting columns that are not timezone dates would seem to be a bug.
