Settings Repository plugin seems abandoned.

Answered

We have tried to enforce company wide code style in our company and tried to use IntelliJ Settings Repository official plugin, since all engineers in our company use Ultimate edition of IntelliJ IDEA.

Since we don't want everyone to edit the official shared codestyle/inspecton profile by mistake and we don't want someone to share his font/theme settings by mistake, we tried to use read-only feature of Settings Repository, but seems it's broken for a while and nobody is fixing that as far as we understand.

Here's recent post about that, which left unanswered https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/205964864-Settings-Repository-Live-Templates-Deleted-?page=1#community_comment_115000301744

Here are list of bugs that aren't updated for quite a while - first issue was opened in 2015

https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-149733

https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-164469

https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-172655

Is there any timeline or expectations for that issue or we should start thinking about workaround?

I've looked at https://github.com/JetBrains/intellij-community/commits/master/plugins/settings-repository and seems there's no recent activity on improving that, and my knowledge about IntelliJ plugin ecosystem and Kotlin are to shallow to contribute to that plugin by myself.

Please see https://www.jetbrains.com/help/idea/sharing-your-ide-settings.html.

This plug-in is bundled now, so it cannot be abandoned.

Thanks for quick reply, I saw that, but that basically doesn't work like it's written in that article.

I mentioned link to history of that sources in my original post, but seems there were mostly minor code cleanup during last year, and this plugin still doesn't work as expected in 2017.1 and 2017.2
