IntelliJ ultimate failed with IntelliJ IDEA 2017.2.5 java.exe is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running.

I am using IntelliJ for the first time, I have installed and latest JDK 8 up and running, but I am unable to start IntelliJ Ultimate?! Please help needed

What exe file do you run - idea.exe or idea64.exe? To run idea64.exe you need to have 64-bit JDK 8 installed.

If you have a 32-bit OS, installer will suggest an option to install 32-bit JDK, or you can install 32-bit Java 8 manually. You will need to use idea.exe instead of idea64.exe.

My computer 32 bit os with x64 processor.

I did installed 32 bit jdk 8, and I am starting using idea.exe.

Can I receive more inputs in this please

Do you still face the same problem at startup?

Try running idea.bat file, what error do you see?
