IntelliJ IDEA: Highlighting background of code blocks - AWESOMEST feature missing?
I'm using IDEA for Java.
I know I'm not the only one wishing there was a way to highlight code blocks in IDEA by highlighting the background.
As in this example, and as illustrated in the example below:

I find that it is a SUPER quick way of finding what you're looking for, for finding out where you are etc... and it's a feature that I simply cannot understand why all IDEs haven't implemented a loooong ago.
This, for me, is one of those things that could be a dealbreaker for me when choosing an IDE.
There's even a plugin for eclipse for this specific purpose.
There was even a post about it some years ago referring to a request alleged to adress this issue specifically. Now, that request was never about code block highlighting as described by me here.
So; does anyone know of any plug-ins for IntelliJ IDEA that will highlight code blocks by coloring the background as illustrated in the example(s) above.
Or does anyone know of any other way to achieve this. I have gone through the settings menu repeatedly, and as far as I can see, there is no way of achieving this currently.
I hope I found the right thread for this. Apologies if I didn't.

@Serge I've seen that.
But "slightly dim all the code other than the method you are inside of"
Is far from what i'm looking for, as shown in the example in the picture above.
It looks very similar to me. I'm afraid, there is no solution for it at the moment.
Is there any update on this? Thanks!
No.
I wanted the same thing so I made a plugin to do just this:
