Tomcat Failed to Initialize Component
I've seen countless examples but my seems to evade a solution.
I imported a project meant to work on an Apache Tomcat v9 server with a MySQL community server v5.6. The project came with instructions on how to edit the configurations which I have done all of multiple times however when I try to run this from my home desktop I receive this

I so far I've tried checking the dependencies, using the exploded war artifact, invalidating the caches, reinstalling IntelliJ, reinstalling Apache Tomcat, and included other possible maven dependencies.
I can't find anything wrong with my configurations either. (just to be clear, the project isn't called "i", that's just a placeholder since it's not my personal project) The Deployment tab includes the war file and the application context is also the same as the project name

It looks like some jar in the project you are deploying is corrupted. See if it works with another simple project. If it does, the issue is with the project, otherwise it could be a problem with the Tomcat installation itself. Try reinstalling Tomcat.
I tried both but neither work. I got a fresh copy of the project that I have working on another computer so it's not the project and I reinstalled Tomcat, I get the exact same error messages
Does it work if the project is deployed outside of IntelliJ IDEA and Tomcat is started from the Terminal?
Tomcat is working fine however installing maven on my computer has proven difficult as Maven claims it has no compiler with my JDK although I can build and run all other java projects which is why I have used IntelliJ thus far
Try reinstalling JDK and setting JAVA_HOME to this new JDK location so that Maven uses it.
Please confirm that your project deploys and runs fine outside of IntelliJ IDEA.
the JDK is fine, JAVA_HOME is set properly in the windows environment variables, and I can confirm the project works outside of IntelliJ. It's an organization wide project saved on a repository and while I can't get maven to run on my machine, the branch I pull from must always have a working copy by regulation so several hundred other people can get it to run. I can to on my laptop yet I still cannot get the project to run on my desktop machine. A connection to the server is made but the war is not getting deployed. It fails in the middle of deployment.
If it fails on your machine outside of IntelliJ IDEA, the issue is somewhere else, not in the IDE.
