IntelliJ Linux Mint cannot create a new project

I got IntelliJ IDEA 2017.3 installed on my machine runnning LInux Mint. And for some reason, I can't create a new project. If I press File>new>Project, nothing happends, the project dialog won't open. The rest of the IDE works just fine though.

Looks like: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/KT-21236. The workaround is to either enable Gradle or disable Kotlin bundled plugins
Updating Kotlin plug-in will also fix the problem.
