All colour themes set my function definitions black!

I'm using IntelliJ IDEA 2016.2.2, with the Python plug-in. 

Examples:


Does anyone know what could be causing this? I'm not very picky about my colour schemes, but I really don't like using light backgrounds as it makes my eyes tired. If anyone has any ideas, I would be much obliged!

Please check that the value is not inherited from the defaults:

This did not solve the problem. Class and function definitions are set to black. Its white for a shortlived period. Changes to black all of a sudden
