Creating UML diagrams

This should be an easy one. I want to design some classes from scratch using uml and need some sequence diagrams along with it. Recommendations?
Note, I've installed SimpleUML and it diagrams existing classes but can't seem to find class designer or sequence diagram generator (though its terse docs allude to them).
But I've no special ties to that one, anything out there is fair play.

Please clarify: are you saying -- Intellij does not offer that feature, or SimpleUML does not offer that feature?
Do you know a tool that does give class design using UML diagram as well as sequence diagram design?

I assume Rational Rose can, though I only used it briefly about ten years ago at a job. I can't afford it now.
I now use Sparx System's Enterprise Architect and it can handle virtually every weird little bit of UML and does full round-trip analysis / edit / synthesis (in multiple languages). EA is model-oriented with diagrams derived from the model, as it should be. (You can edit the model via a diagram, though.)
Like IDEA, I suspect few people use even a simple majority of its features, but the price is quite reasonable and, as I said, it does pretty much all of UML.

this is old but is there a way to create uml diagramms of an project
and from the structure, hierarchy etc.?
It's supported for classes and packages only, see https://www.jetbrains.com/help/idea/class-diagram.html.
