Github Private Repo Help

So I am having a ton of difficulties with a private repo on github. I have a micro (paid) account with github but PHPStorm wont let me push to a private repo. Also when I click to test the export of a clone it fails. I have no problem with public repos but private repos it just fails
has anyone gotten the Guthub plugin to work with a paid account?
