node.js remote interpreter option not available

After following the official instructions to enable a node.js remote interpreter, the node.js interpreters dialog still only shows "Add Local..."  Am I missing something?

PyCharm 2016.1.2 on Mac OS.

PhpStorm 2017.3

JRE: 1.8.0_152-release-1024-b6 amd64
JVM: OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM by JetBrains s.r.o
Windows 10 10.0

 

The Node JS Remote Interpeter plugin is installed, but the option is not there when attempting to add a new interpreter

I'm still having he same problem in 2020.1/201.6667.113. The plugin is installed (and IDE restarted) but the only option is to add local.
