IntelliJ GWT 15 different from IntelliJ GWT 12.

Answered

Hi,

I have been using IntelliJ 12 GWT for my GWT project and did not have any issues. I basically have a war file in my GWT project which has some static JSP pages. When i launched GWT in debug mode i could access the static pages.

However in intelliJ 15 the war folder gets replaced by IntelliJ as part of the step where it does "Preparing war directory for GWT Dev Mode". It replaces the whole 'war' folder and lose all the static JSP pages.

Can anyone please tell me how i can stop this and make IntelliJ 15 work like intelliJ 12 as far as the GWT debug mode is concerned?

Thanks in advance.

When you start GWT run configuration in IntelliJ IDEA 15 it prepares a new war directory under its idea.system.path and this shouldn't affect your war folder. Do you mean that IDEA really deleted files from your war folder? Or probably it just starts the GWT process with its own war folder and JSP files weren't copied to it?

Hi,

Thanks for you reply.

I was expecting the new war directory to be merged with my already present war directory, instead it deleted my war and replaced it with IntelliJ created one. Please let me know how i can make it merge as it used to do in IntelliJ 12.

Many of my friends are facing the same issue. This resolution would help all of us.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

could you please attach ".idea" directory of your project? Then we'll be able to figure out your problem and the exact configuration you need.

Thank you!

Hi,

Finally i got this working :)

I had to create a seperate WebResources directory and put my Project Static resources there :)

It was a good learning experience.

Thanks Everyone for your help.
