Recompile Option disabled for .groovy file

 May i know why "Build -> Recompile" option is disabled for .groovy files? Is there a way to enable it.?

I am using Intellij IDEA 2016.2.2. But i don't see "Recompile" option appearing for any of the groovy file. I am wondering if i need to enable any settings for this

Same version here. Do you have Groovy SDK configured for the module?

Could you please prepare and provide a small sample project illustrating the problem and the exact steps to reproduce (complete zipped source tree and project files)?
