Disable right-unclick in popup menu

When I right-click to open the popup menu, if I move the mouse while doing so, and then release the right-button while over a selection, it executes that selection.
This often means I get a 1 frame menu showing up, then some action that I did not know what it was happened. This has caused several headaches as not all things are undoable (like abort rebase).
I would like to disable that releasing the right mouse button clicks things in the popup menu.

This might be an xfce issue tho, seems “normal behavior” is not to open the popup menu on right-mouse-down but rather right-mouse-up?

I found out this option in "Advanced Settings > User Interface"
