IntelliJ won't open multiply projects.

Ultimate 2017.3
Build: #IU-173.4548.28
JVM: Hotspot 64-bit

MacOS Sierra 10.12.6

After updating to 2017.3 I can no longer open multiply projects. Seems like the File -> menu item are not responding. 
I do not see any errors in the log file. 
e.g.
File -> open url -> nothing happens
File -> open recent -> nothing happens

Try reinstalling from http://www.jetbrains.com/idea/download/index.html.

Delete IDE folders to start with the defaults: https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/articles/206544519.

Deleting the folder /Library/Preferences/IntelliJIdea2017.3 and restart Intellij fixed the problem
