does intellij ultimate can be used for android development

HI,

can i use intellij ultimate edition for developing android applications? or should i used android studio.

i added android plugins and sdk. when i create a fresh project i got this error which i normally don't get with android studio.

"Could not determine Java version using executable /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk-10.0.2.jdk/Contents/Home/bin/java."

Do you run the latest IntelliJ IDEA version?

Note that it's recommended to use Java 8 for Android.

Thanks. i uninstalled java 10 and installed java 8 DISABLED updates.

i hate programs when they update themselves and start creating problems.
