IDE unresponsive for a few seconds on gaining windows focus

With the Dec. 18th build (PY-183.4886.43), whenever the IDE regains focus the IDE becomes unresponsive for 3-5 seconds. I only experience this on the focus loss/gain; if i don't change focus, then the IDE is always quick and responsive. I have pulled up the activity monitor, but that isn't helpful as being part of the IDE is also unresponsive (no updates) for those few seconds as well. I more than exceed the minimum specs with nothing taking up CPU or RAM excessively.

Has anyone else been experiencing this? It's really aggravating...
