[Solved] IntelliJ 2019.1 Whitespace Not Showing Despite Seeming to Be Enabled

I seem to have properly enabled "show whitespace" and I even restarted IntelliJ, but despite this, whitespace is still not showing. Am I missing something?

Please check the whitespaces color defined for your color scheme and make sure it's different from the editor background color:
