Pycharm: deleting a file and leaving no (easily observable) trace

Answered

I worked on a file

/Users/dbae/Library/Preferences/PyCharmCE2019.1/scratches/scratch.py

and then I deleted it using bash, not Pycharm. However, it still shows up, for

example under the Pycharm Run menu.

1. How can I get rid of several annoying reminders of a former existence?

2. How could I have removed scratch.py using Pycharm, rather than bash?

I am using PycharmC£2019.1.4 under Macos 10.14.6

Unfortunately, it's not possible at the moment. There is an open ticket in our tracker about that https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-198410, feel free to vote and leave comments.

Before Sergey's comment was posted, I wrote to JetBrains Support with the same question.

Clicking on the link provided by Sergey, I note that the open ticket is 9 months old. I voted for the issue, but couldn't see any way of finding out how many had voted.

So far I have no answer from JetBrains, but my request is still very new.
