Installing IntelliJ & JDK on a Mac

I use IntelliJ in my high school class (desktop PCs).  Three of my students installed IntelliJ on their Macbooks.  They downloaded and installed the JDK.  However, when I look under the Project Structure, the SDK path appears wrong.  I can't type in a different path and I am not proficient at all with Macs to know how to navigate to the correct location.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!
