Remote interpreter not working in pycharm 2020.1

I have a registered version of Pycharm professional.

I had a remote interpreter via ssh setup previously. With the new pycharm, it tells me that it could not refresh skeletons for the remote interpreter (i also tried deleting pycharm_helpers). When I go to project interpreters settings, it says that the remote ssh interpreter is not available and to check the associated plugin. When I go to add a new interpreter, I can only add local interpreters, not remote ones. SFTP/FTP connectivity plugin is enabled. Any workaround other than reverting back to previous version?

The forum isn't suitable for sharing the log. For that reason, please report it to https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issues/PY and attach your idea.log file from Help | Show Log in...

In the meantime, try File | Manage IDE Settings | Restore Default Settings...

It will import your settings before resetting to defaults so you will be able to rollback.

Thanks Sergey. I downgraded to previous pycharm then upgraded again and it somehow started working. one thing that is different is i didnt turn off and then turned on all of my plugins. maybe that is what breaks it but i dont want to test it :P
