Issues with scrolling on the trackpad in CLion 2020.1

I've just updated to CLion 2020.1 and i'm having issues with scrolling. What I think has happened is that the developers have put work into developing support for touch screen computers (which I thank you for) but have also changed the behaviour of the trackpad to behave more like a mouse. Consequently, the scroll is no longer smooth like it used to be but jumps 18 lines at a time - like you've turned the mouse whell. The various options under settings do not seem to do much either. 

Are there any hidden options that would get the trackpad working like before again?
