SSL Untrusted Server Certificate for Pycharm and Intelij Ide
Answered
Hi there,
We have been experiencing some issues with the JetBrains Ides, The issue is we are having a popup within the Pycharm and IntelliJ ide saying that an untrusted server certificate for common domains related to IntelliJ Idea such as "plugins.jetbrains.com" is signed by a untrusted certificate authority called fortinet. This issue seems to be very intermittent and it could possible be an issue with our internal network but we just want to verify if this is happening on your end.
I have attached a screenshot of the warning message below.
Note: The Operating System that is currently being used is Ubuntu 18.04 LTS.
Thanks

It seems to be similar to https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-139287.
Your corporate proxy seems to hijack the server SSL certificate (the original certificate is replaced with the proxy certificate so that the proxy can decrypt and analyze the secure traffic).
You can either accept your proxy certificate as trusted or enable File | Settings | Tools | Server Certificates | Accept non-trusted certificates automatically. Does it help?
Surely you're leaving your corporation vulnerable by checking Accept non-trusted certificates automatically?
My networks and security team will not allow it anyway.
Has another solution been found since this original post is from 2020?
My current pop up is for "sni.cloudflaressl.com"...
